The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said it will soon allow the operation of provincial buses.
“Pina-plano namin even several weeks back and that’s the opening of provincial bus routes. It is quite a challenge when we open this type of public transport just like the challenge encountered by maritime and air,” Martin Delgra, chairman of LTFRB said during the briefing with the House Committee on Economic Affairs.
“Not all LGUs [local government units] are wiling to open up their boarders until now and even they do they want to calibrate the number of people who will come and get out of their respective jurisdiction, “ he added.
Delgra said his agency is in consultations with the integrated terminal operators to prepare them for the eventual opening of the provincial busses.
