
Diversified telecommunications firm PT&T Corp. has appointed a new chairman as it expands its footprint nationwide as well as solidifying its digital transformation.
PT&T said the company appointed Roberto “Bob” B. Ortiz as the chairman of the board, replacing Salvador “Buddy” T. Zamora II, who will “focus on personal endeavors outside the company.”
Prior to his appointment, Ortiz has been an Independent Director of the Company since 2018.
Zamora, on the other hand, will continue to serve as Non-Executive Director of PT&T.
“On behalf of the Board, and personally, I would like to thank Buddy for the contribution he has made to PT&T during his Chairmanship. He has been an excellent Chair and has played a crucial role in the successful development of PT&T,”James Velasquez, director and chief executive said.
“We are delighted to welcome Bob as the new Chairman. As we aim to expand our footprint nationwide and solidify our digital transformation services, Bob’s entry as our new chair brings with him an outstanding record of value creation and wealth of experience to PT&T,” he added.
Currently, PT&T has a network reach of 22,800 fiber kilometers in high-growth areas and covering almost 40 percent of the total Philippine population.

Ortiz has over 27 years of experience as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and director of various local and multinational corporations.
He worked for Price Waterhouse (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) from 1987-1994 focusing on strategic financial management, valuation, investment banking, and operations management. He served as the Vice-President for Finance of Consolidated Industrial Gases, Inc. from 1994-2003.
He was the CFO of All Asian Countertrade, Inc. and its subsidiaries, Sweet Crystals Integrated Sugar Mill Corporation and Basecom Inc. from 2003-2009. He served as director and CFO of Total Nutrition Corporation since 2010.
Currently, Ortiz is also a director and CFO of Premiere Horizon Alliance Corporation (PHA) formerly Premiere Entertainment Philippines, Inc. Due to his expertise and extensive experience in finance, he also serves as a financial advisor of various companies engaged in fintech and stock market investment.
Ortiz graduated from Ateneo de Manila University in 1973 with a degree in B.S. in Management Engineering.
