NEDA approves Naia rehabilitation

The Investment Coordination Committee-Cabinet Committee of the National Economic and Development Authority Board has proved the unsolicited public-private partnership project of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to increase its capacity and improve passenger experience in the country’s main gateway.

NAIA Consortium, which is composed of Ayala Corp., Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Alliance Global Group, Inc., Asia Emerging Dragon, Filinvest Development, JG Summit and Metro Pacific Investments Corp., submitted a P102-billion unsolicited bid to rehabilitate the main gateway in line with the Clark International Airport operations and maintenance (O&M) contract.

The approval to the NAIA project was given on Sept. 27, 2019.

The Naia Consortium proposed to expand and interconnect the existing terminals of Naia, upgrade airside facilities and develop commercial facilities to increase airline and airport efficiencies, enhance passenger comfort and experience and improve public perception of Naia as the country’s premier international gateway.
